What Katy Did Next
What Katy Did Next is a small and beautiful business run by Textiles and Surface Design Graduate Katy Howieson. Katy runs her business from her home in Sedgefield, County Durham where she conducts one on one consultations with brides from up and down the country.
Gathering her inspiration from all things romantic, vintage and whimsical – Katy creates a range of designs suitable for the most demanding of brides! The handmade nature of her work means that no one piece is exactly the same, and designs can easily be tweaked to suit each client – be it a change in size colour or fastening.
Katy has also created a number of custom pieces for brides wanting something a little bit different and can even create matching items including cuffs, sashes or shoe clips.
We are honoured to have some sample pieces in the shop for our brides to see the quality of her work and arrange an appointment with her at our studio.
Since launching in 2004, Glitzy Secrets jewels have regularly featured in countless fashion magazines, from Marie Claire, Cosmopolitan and InStyle to Grazia, Hello and Heat, bridal publications including Bride, You and Your Wedding, Wedding, Cosmopolitan Bride, Wedding Ideas and Perfect Wedding and national newspapers including The Times, The Daily Mail, The Express, The Sun and The Mirror. TV appearances include shows such as BBC1’s Strictly Come Dancing, ITV’s Dancing on Ice, Gok’s Fashion Fix and Footballers Wives as well as catwalk appearances including Ronit Zilkha’s show at London Fashion Week.
Now the must-have web address in the little black books of Fashion Editors and Stylists, Glitzy Secrets has gained a growing celebrity fan base with celebrities choosing to wear the collection at many glamorous events and awards ceremonies. Bowing to customer demand, Glitzy Secret hair accessories are now available from Vintage at Number 18.
